The last few weeks room 8 has  been reading a book called wonder. In the story one of the main characters is called August Paul-man The theme of the story is to be kind to people even if the are different. We have been going on tweet deck to post some tasks and questions. One of the tasks were flip grid      , you can see some of them here  Flipgrid There is also a movie that was just released this is what August looks like in the movie This is some of the tasks I have done

Walking in the cold breeze to the amazing mural, listening to the voices of the other students. Smelling the fresh air entering my lungs. I was surprised how much the tree looked like an actual realistic one. Curving around the bend I saw a huge Taniwha, it made my heart pound, that thing was terrifying. I’m so glad that is not a real Taniwha.

Waiting for the wood to clap against each other, I started  clenching my fists together. My heart started pounding really fast. The sound of everyone breathing made me feel really scared. “ Am I going to make it?” I thought repeatedly. I saw the wood was going to clap together, “Ready, set ,Go!”, I started running as fast as I could, as I was sprinting I felt like I couldn’t breathe. “Come on you can do it!” i heard a Peachgrove say to me, i could feel the sweat dripping down on my face, “EWW”  i thought as the sweat entered my mouth.

we have been doing measuring in maths for this project we had to estimate how many metres squared room 10 is. In my group we had Anab, Indianna and my self. this project didn't take really long it only took 10 minutes . I was the one doing the maths and Anab and indianna were measuring how many metres the length, width and depth of the room length=9 width=8 depth=4 8x9=72 72x2=144 144x2=288 width=4 length=3 depth=4 4x3=12 12x4=48 width=3 length=3 depth=4 4x3=12 12x3=32 length=9 width=8 depth=1 8x9=72 72x1-72     48     288+2=290   290+32= 322  322+70=392  392+8=400 400+40=440     answer 440m3

In term two I learned that… I was less nervous in term two. I made more friends. I learned that Whaea Kat gets very weird sometimes. I learned how to play some games. I learned the more days that I’ve been at school I've got more and more weird.

We are learning 

Sitting in the hall i could see and hear the big loud drums. “Go miss Jones” i was cheering “why is it so loud I thought t o myself, I couldn’t smell or taste anything at all I felt my ears starting to ache very very badly Boom Boom Boom the mighty  drums roared, the good beat as everyone hit the drums it made my heart pound. "What's the time bro i don't know we all chanted". I hit the drum with the drum stick boom

Imogen is a huge towering skyscraper standing tall and reaching high. Imogen is a sweet lollie waiting to be bitten into. Imogen is a white flowing dress blowing in the wind. Imogen is a black and yellow Lamborghini making maham in the traffic. Imogen is a cold glass of water waiting to be sipped. Imogen is a lonely cottage in the woods. Imogen is a pig rolling in the disgusting and dirty mud.

When I was in the hall the one art that caught my eye was the weaving. My buddy and I walked over to the weaving but only after we saw a couple pieces of other art . The lady told me instead of using a pin to shred she flax, You could use a metal dog comb to shred the flax and it is way faster and more accurate.
