The last few weeks room 8 has  been reading a book called wonder. In the story one of the main characters is called August Paul-man The theme of the story is to be kind to people even if the are different. We have been going on tweet deck to post some tasks and questions. one lonely day in an outdoor library Katelyn sat on the most comfortable chair in the middle of the room reading the most princess book she ever read, it was Ella's diary. all of the adventurous books were soaring in the sky and all of the scary books were lying under the chair, all of a sudden there was a catastrophe the ground starts shaking, "oh no my books" Katelyn kept ranting. she started using her powers " let it stop, stop  right now" she kept on cursing. Katelyn eyes turned green, green magic flew in the air the shaking stopped "phew" Katelyn sat down and started reading her book.

PETS If I had the choose to get any pet i wanted i would get a dolphin a bottlenose dolphin because -they are so cute -they would keep me company -it would be entertaining to watch them swimming around -i won't have to play with my sister - i can swim with her - i can name her Ella What Ella will look like -she would have blue eyes - grey/blue skin - cute nose I would keep her in my pool/ aquarium in my $1000000 mansion .

maths i learned that whaea Georgia is a really great maths teacher because i learned more fractions. art i learned how to weave a kite with flax because i succeeded  mindfulness i learned that i improved in mindfulness because i can focus on brething writing i learned that my handwriting has gotten better genius hour i learned about Clifford possum

We have been designing  a manu tara tahi out of bamboo, string, feathers and twine .We took time to make the one that we really liked. It was so perfect at first when we made it  but it didn't work out at the start because there was a lot of people in the same group. We didn’t make a traditional manu tara tahi we only made a modern take on one. We wished that our manu tara tahi was small then it will only take about two to three days but this one took about three weeks.

Do You Know What A Tsunami Is? Do you know what a tsunami is? A tsunami is a natural disaster caused by an earthquake or a volcanic eruption. A tsunami used to be referred to a tidal wave but now it is called a tsunami because it has nothing to do with the tide. Some people who survived a tsunami thought of it as a freight train, because a tsunami and a freight train are both very loud they are both so loud that even animals could sense a tsunami. Although a tsunami looks like it won't harm you  it is actually very very dangerous.

Walking in the cold breeze to the amazing mural, listening to the voices of the other students. Smelling the fresh air entering my lungs. I was surprised how much the tree looked like an actual realistic one. Curving around the bend I saw a huge Taniwha, it made my heart pound, that thing was terrifying. I’m so glad that is not a real Taniwha.

The cat waited impatiently in the darkness of the unlighted room, “Dinner time” said Ashley, the owner of the cat “Rrrrrrrrrrr” purred the lonely kitten, running into the kitchen trying to bold over the owner. “Why did you do that, no dinner for you!!” “GRRRRRRRRR” a sound came from the sad little kitten, the kitten went back to hide in her hiding spot. The lonely kitten waited and waited for her owner to walk in the door. “Missy” the owner cried out, “ I'm sorry! You can come have you dinner now” “ purr” the cat purred slowly climbing out of the window going onto the road. “Vvrr Mm” a noise came from down the road, “PURRRR” there was a noise coming from the kitten, the kitten got ran over by a car never to be seen again.

“Please don't let go, I don't want to loose you” said my very scared baby cousin Natalia while I was zip-lining through the valley. “I won't lose you” I said with a horrified voice. “I'm scared” “I know Natalia” I said repeatedly. “ 5,4,3,2,1, and where hear” I said as my cousin and I dropped onto the ground. My hands were hurting because I was holding onto the sack. “Come on, my cousin dropped onto the ground only just holding, "AHHH" my cousin fell onto the ground. I started carrying my cousin, we finally got to school, “What happened” said the principal I” I don't know she fell on the ground.“It will be OK Natalia...

In today's Tuhituhi we have been writing similes and metaphors, these are some of mine. simile: Her dark eyes are as black, and gloomy, like black oil dripping, in the darkness, onto the road. Metaphor: Her dark fur is the night sky. metaphor: her tail is a wriggling worm. simile: Her black nose is like 100 bugs lying down to go to sleep.

“BOOM”  I heard as the balloon popped right in front of me, my heart started pounding really fast. All I thought was “ wow i never thought that would happen, Des Hunt started talking about the eels slithering around on the wet grass I got really freaked out about that, After the presentation of Des Hunt a few people were chosen to do a writing workshop with him. We started writing our backstories with him, My heart started pounding really fast, I didn't want to read, out loud to everyone about my backstory!.

Waiting for the wood to clap against each other, I started  clenching my fists together. My heart started pounding really fast. The sound of everyone breathing made me feel really scared. “ Am I going to make it?” I thought repeatedly. I saw the wood was going to clap together, “Ready, set ,Go!”, I started running as fast as I could, as I was sprinting I felt like I couldn’t breathe. “Come on you can do it!” i heard a Peachgrove say to me, i could feel the sweat dripping down on my face, “EWW”  i thought as the sweat entered my mouth.

"Oh no “ I thought horrified, I looked back as I was jumping the hurdle. “Ahhhh……. There's a shark behind me!.” my heart started pounding really fast. I panicked so much my mask came off. I tried to breath but I couldn’t, I blacked out. I started hearing “ It's OK it will be fine, finally I could breath. “ Are you OK?.” “Yeah I'm fine “ “What happened?” “You blacked out when you saw a shark behind you.” “Oh ok, thanks for saving me” I replied “where are we?.” “Where are home now” “OK bye.”

There are ten fish in a fishbowl 3 swim away and 2 drown how many fish are left in the  fishbowl? Ten because fish can't swim away if they're in a fishbowl and fish live in water so they can't drown If a red man lived in a red house and a green man lived in a greenhouse than who lives in the white house? The president What gets bigger the more you take from it? A hole What goes up and never down? Your age What has teeth but no mouth? A comb What has an eye but no face? A needle What runs but never walks? A river what is black and white and red all over? a newspaper round and round the rugged rock the rugged rascals rot how many "Rs" are in "that"? none "THAT"

These  are  my cinquains I got inspiration from my sister always messing my room up and my dad always being a goof and telling really weird dad jokes cinquain is pronounced as ( sank N) In our class we have been writing  poems and  cinquains we also have been learning what syllables are. You can figure out how many syllables are in your name or your  sentence by clapping the words out Rochelle Is annoying She messes up my room I get mad and she gets sad Sorry My dad Is so funny He chases me around He starts laughing and I do too Cool dads
